Just last week we got a brand new, shiny Hannaford right here in town. That along with supporting the local farmer's markets and doing whatever possible right here in town. I'm a pretty faithful home-town kinda gal.
Nice post! I try to shop local whenever I get the chance.
I TOTALLY agree!!
I agree completely, I do go to the big box stores like target, as you say we need to support our locals; so they stay in business. I grew up in the Mission area, and the little shops along Johnson Drive are an example,of course Brookside, Crestwood, etc.
The 3/50 Project is spreading the word about shopping local and small retailers. Both consumers and retailers can get involved. check it out and spread the word.

Anon – I posted on 3/50 a few weeks ago and had their link in my margin for awhile – I should probably put it back up.
I do try to shop locally when I can! My DH is in KC right now…too bad I couldn't go with him..would have been fun to meet up!
I wholeheartedly agree!! I'm from a small town, and the big box store an hour away has not been kind to local businesses.
Best,
Michelle
yay – what a great message – and so true!!
