J., darling, you know we go way back and I wouldn’t ask you for a thing unless I really needed it. I appreciate your offering stylish pieces from other folks – it is absolutely so smart and generous. I do, truly, like the Timex currently on your pages.
It’s just, well, I’ve had this one in my files for so long. Those squares and dashes, gosh, they can’t be beat. That slightly luminous face? Can’t get it out of my mind. I have searched shops both thrift and vintage and antique malls, too, to no avail. This gent is quite elusive. I’d be forever grateful if you could put us in touch. Even catalogue only. Looking forward to seeing you this fall.

It is such a classic and I've not seen it in my travels either Mrs B.

Gorgeous post, and I agree your jaunty yet substantial inspiration timepiece can't be beat. Hope you meet your match someday ; )

Oh my gosh. I just had my grandfather's 1957 gold Bulova with a chunky crystal fitted with a new leather strap. I wind it twice a day. Curiously, the helpful folks at Torneau couldn't find it in the 'bible.'
I hope you find yours.
looks like the one my husband has which his sister found in a parking lot, eons ago, an Omega. It has been through several bands already and stood the test of time.
Mrs. B,
Sounds like Timex keeps you ticking.

Have you tried pawn shops? One of my dearest friends owns one (I have even worked there many years ago)and he has beautiful baubles and things–estate jewelry, etc. He also has the best selection of tools and musical instruments……I am still kicking myself for not buying a sapphire and diamond Rolex that came out of pawn……
I would die for one too! Yes, J.Crew, please help a lady out!!
Please start a reissue campaign. The second watch is so much more classy.
Mrs. B, I hope you find it!
Quite right! I'm currently wearing a men's Timex (the tank style with a black leather strap) that I found at Big Lots for the grand sum of $5! Wonderful style — and I can actually see the time! So I search out men's watches at shops like Ross or Target ….

eBay….just found a discontinued Swiss Army watch there that I've been craving for years.
Mrs. Blanding,
I love your blog and I always look forward to new entries. You never fail me! So, as a form of thanks, here are two Timexes that are for sale on Ebay right now that might make your heart tick a little faster.

Quite clever. I always enjoy your blog. I have been following for a while. I have a dilemma today though. I have recently viewed a blog post, made a mental note to go back to it, then forgot which blog I was on. So, my question is have you recently posted a blog about a new rug in your kitchen? Thanks.
it's pretty great, for sure. I can't believe you can't track it down? time to get that ebay alert going. I feel confident you'll find it.
I have a very old Tivol's watch (circa 1950 something )that's similar, I love it for it's timelessness.
My college age son bought the j crew timex and returned it two weeks later after it stopped running. Our jeweler took a look at it first and said it was a piece of junk and certainly not worth the price that j crew was wanted for it.
