A couple of things popped up while we were away. Don’t miss my friend, David Jimenez’s, apartment in the April issue of Architectural Digest. You can see it on-line here.
And, in further housekeeping, my latest piece on shopping your closet appeared in the Kansas City Star here.
Image, top, Architectural Digest, April 2013. I was so lucky to be at the shoot and witness the meticulous work of Howard Christian, who styled the piece, and Joshua McHugh who photographed it. Me and three charming men in a beautiful apartment – nice work if you can get it. Image, next, courtesy of One Kings Lane.
I saw this amazing apartment–and immediately thought of you. Love those chocolate walls, reminds me a bit of BB.
Happy Easter.

I absolutely adored this piece in Architectural Digest. It had me wanting to paint a room – any room – chocolate brown. Thanks for bringing Mr. Jimenez's home to light.
How about this for a design for a wall painting, in the tried-and-true Art Nouveau style?: http://EN.WahooArt.com/A55A04/w.nsf/OPRA/BRUE-8BWN3L, by the famous English artist, Audrey Beardsley himself. You can also order a canvas print of the picture from wahooart.com.
Just read the AD article last week and enjoyed it
immensely–both words and pictures!
Love the chocolate walls. The room is completely designed exotically.
My now-mother-in-law was living at the Sophian Plaza the first time I came home for the holidays with my husband (at the time, he wasn't yet even a fiance). I fell in love with the building (his family turned out to be pretty cool, too), and it was especially lovely at that time of year, with a view out over the Plaza lights. Sadly, she gave up the swanky digs for the more gardening-friendly suburbs of JoCo. If she had already decamped by the time of that first visit, I may never have been convinced to relocate to KC! Thanks for providing a peek into a building for which I feel abiding affection.
